It was going to happen sometime. Bod had finally gotten tired enough of the inside of the bedroom, the living room, the kitchen, and the bathroom, to stage an escape for himself. He'd been able to walk about reasonably well for the past few days, and his coughing had stopped burning. The rash had mostly faded as well, and he thought he looked much better. Neil said he was white as the ghosts who raised him and looked awfully thin, and had told him he still wasn't allowed to go to work. But being in the house was chafing him so, he had to do something.

So, he took matters into his own hands. Dressing himself had taken a bit out of him, but, undaunted, he opened the door and stepped outside for the first time in close to a month. His destination? The library. He figured, since Neil was working, there'd be less chance of him getting caught, and he could get himself a book that his still-healing eyes would finally allow him to read, at least for a little while. It definitely hurt less than watching television.

Trouble was, it felt like an awfully long walk to the library. He got about halfway there and decided to stop and rest for a bit on one of the park benches. That's what they were there for, wasn't it?  Dropping onto it gratefully, he adjusted his dark glasses and took a moment to just enjoy the feel of being out of the house.
