It had been weeks. Weeks since she'd been up this way, weeks since she'd seen Dok- or Wes. It had been weeks since she bowed out of going shopping for Halloween costumes, claiming that she didn't feel well and hiding in her room for the rest of the day. It had been weeks since she'd had a good night's sleep. She didn't always tell Harry about her nightmares, or how often they came, but she had a feeling that he knew. He always knew. But then, he was no stranger to nightmares, himself.
She really didn't want anything to put a damper on today, though. It would be nice to just spend some time with Dok, who had such a calm, soothing air about him. Just... cooking, and talking, nothing stressful. She was even willing to let him encourage her to sit in a chair and do nothing, if he insisted on it.
Taking a deep breath-- and willing herself not to look at the house next door-- she knocked on the door, then stepped back, rubbing her arms briskly. It was already starting to feel like fall...
