At this point, Wes was seriously considering the possibility that Dok didn't want to go home. There couldn't possibly be any more tests Dr. Peirce could run--unless 21st century medicine was more advanced than he could see. Regardless, the idea that he'd miss the bland white walls and overly cheerful wallpaper runners that circled the room was a wry thought. At least Wes had successfully conquered his own phobic distrust of medicine that didn't involve bio-beds and hyposprays.

"So when are you going to get out of here?" Wes asked Dok, glancing up from re-typing a paragraph for one of his final papers. "Not that I have a reason for wanting you out or anything, I just think my professors are starting to wonder if I've come down with something chronic."  He deleted the paragraph, still not happy with it. "I'm pretty sure if I asked to be excused from gym for the rest of the year they wouldn't even raise an eyebrow. Here, how would you phrase this?" Wes passed Dok notes on the failure of the British colonial system and the rise of socialist democracy. "I keep on telling myself this should be simple...I concentrated my studies in Starfleet on colonial law and negotiation, but then I have to remind myself that it's a very different kind of colonialism." Wesley shook his dark head.  "Oh, Hermione should be stopping by soon. She's apparently found some really interesting things about the Babylon Candle."

No wonder he was finding it hard to concentrate--between what happened to Dok, the end of the semester and everything else, his brain was about to burst.
