It would be hard to tell exactly what time of day it was if you were judging solely by the sky, since it was clouded to the point that the sun was just a memory. It had been drizzling when Integra stepped out of the cab she'd called, but since she sat down it had begun to pour.

A very attentive waitress took her drink order almost immediately after she settled in and very kindly left it at that after being informed that she was waiting on someone.

As her attention drifted outside, she couldn't help but feel calm, despite the viciousness of the weather. She was always like that with the rain, she recalled. Ever since she was young, she felt comforted, even by the worst storms. She remembered telling Walter once, after she'd seen him use his weapons, that the falling rain looked like wires. He had humored her, then, even though now she could hardly see the resemblance.

Something about that saddened her more than she thought it would. It almost felt like losing him all over again.

A moment later, she diverted her attention to her coffee before she looked over the menu in a futile attempt to think of anything else. Pancakes would doubtlessly take her mind off of such unpleasant things.

By the time she looked back outside, the rain had calmed to a drizzle again, though the sky seemed no brighter. Even though it was obviously going to be just a brief reprieve, she hoped Lulu would get there just in time to not get rained on. If it rained all day after that, she was sure that neither of them would mind. It was a 24 hour pancake place for crying out loud -- who would?
