Troy was out for a walk when he saw a girl with a really big clock in tow. He would've kept doing what he was doing but he saw the clock start to tip, he couldn't let it go. He ran over to help reaching out to catch the clock.

"Hey, don't fall, don't fall!" In case talking to the clock helped.

Dairine almost reached for it. She put out her hands, squealing a little. If she touched it, the work would be for all for nothing -- if it fell, the clock would break completely. When the boy caught it, she practically collapsed in relief, hands going to her head.

"Ohhhhmygosh." Pressing her hands to her heart, she took a few steps forward and picked up the chain she'd managed to drop in the process. "Thank you so much. I would have been so screwed if that fell." Then, a moment of silence later, she added, pale-faced, "Wait...are you a wizard? Time traveler? Do you have secret magical powers?"

Troy saw Dairine's relief and smiled. "Hey, you're welcome! I couldn't let it fall, not if I could get here in time."

He looked at her, a little puzzled. "Um, no, no, and no. Just a normal guy in the right place at the right time. I'm Troy."

Finally, the spiked levels of adrenaline receded and Dairine could allow herself a moment of respite. Not total, but hearing that her savior was a normal guy (and hoping that he wasn't lying) Dairine felt herself relax.

"Yeah. Seriously. Thanks, Troy. I'm Dairine." She paused, mouth slightly open as she made the connection. "Hey...you go to my school, right? I swear I've seen you around before."
