It was absurdly easy to find out what room Potter was staying in, particularly since he was only one floor away. It was a miracle they hadn't run into one another in the lobby. Which meant Snape had time to plan and prepare for their first meeting. He still wasn't even convinced that it was Potter that he would find, but he was determined to find out.
With a quick spell, he'd let himself into Potter's room, taking a quick inventory. No luggage, though there was an empty shopping bag and a receipt for clothing inside. There were two toothbrushes on the sink which gave him pause.
Potter wasn't alone.
Opening the closet, he found a pair of dirty clothing inside, one considerably smaller than the other.
Potter had a child with him. The question was whose? It wasn't as though he'd had time to procreate.
There was a laptop sitting on the table and he moved to read the screen. A moment later, he found himself sitting heavily on the chair, staring at the display.
He had gone to meet his mother.
Lily.
Which was impossible. As impossible as him standing there. Alive.
Standing, he moved the chair to the darkest corner of the room, brooding as he waited for the Chosen One to return.
