"Of course. I'm afraid that we don't have anyone living here that's your height, but we do have a few clothing stores in town. But it's getting late now and everyone will be going to the Valentine's dance.. so everything's going to be closed. But I do have a pair of sweat pants that are a little long on me, and some t-shirts that should fit, for now. I can give you some money and you can go shopping tomorrow." Even as he said that, he was standing up. "Would you like to take a look at the room? I'll go find the clothes."
Now I'm going to owe him a debt. Great. What are you getting yourself into, Jalil? "Yeah. Thanks a lot." He nodded and would move down the hall in the direction Remus had pointed, to find the room. While Remus moved to his room to get his clothes, Jalil walked into the empty room and glanced down at his hands. That.. was funny. They hadn't been dirty before. They hadn't... Oh, shit.
I need a sink. Oh. My hands are so dirty -- crap. Bathroom.
It'd be a full five minutes before Remus was knocking on the open door of the guest bedroom and moving inside. He smiled when he saw Jalil at the sink in the bathroom and stepped up so that he could see him in the mirror, as he lifted the clothes some. "Feel free to take a shower, if you like. I brought your clothes... Should I just leave them on the bed?"
He was in the middle of washing his hands when Remus came in, and he lifted green eyes to stare up into the mirror at the man behind him. "Oh -- yeah. Thanks a lot." Said again. And then he looked back down at his hands.. but they'd stopped. He didn't have the urge to keep washing them.. he'd only washed them three times. He should have another four to go. What was going on?
"Sure thing. Are you hungry? I could make you something to eat. I'm pretty decent in the kitchen, but if you've ever had really good cooking, you might be disappointed." He smiled all the same and shrugged up one shoulder some, turning to set the clothes down on the bed, his back to the mirror as he spoke again. "Or you can make something yourself, if you'd rather."
He was too busy thinking about what had just happened to really focus on what Remus was saying. He heard him, he just pushed his words aside, because his thoughts were more important. For right now, at least. He turned to dry his hands off and after a long pause, turned to look at Remus again. "No.. thanks. I'm not hungry." It was true, he wasn't. The dwarves had keept them well fed... they were heroes, after all.
"Alright." He turned and smiled at him again. "You're welcome to sleep if you want. There's a lock on the door. Or you can wander around the house, take a look around if you're not tired. I'll just be in the living room." He was turning then, to move towards the door and make his way out slowly. A second later, the door clicked shut behind him.
He didn't say anything in response, just stared at him as he left, and watched the door as it shut behind him. He waited for a few minutes.. and then it was coming back again. Jalil cursed sharply under his breath, and was moving back into the bathroom. He wasn't ready to come to terms with the fact that something might be supressing the urge from him -- so he'd just wash his hands, and write it off as a coincidence.
