But she'd finally called him, and to her surprise, he'd answered. She'd expected him to be out exploring his surroundings, maybe paying a visit to the clinic. She would've been doing something similar, but she still hadn't made very much progress on her unpacking, and he had volunteered to help...

He'd agreed, and she'd said something about making lunch for him if he hadn't eaten yet, so there she stood in her kitchen, making a few sandwiches and trying to remember when the mere thought of talking to him had come with this many complications. It was inevitable that they'd discuss House; she had finally come to grips with that - and she'd done her best to convince herself that the feelings she'd almost allowed herself could all be attributed to the consumption of alcohol.

However, Wilson was a constant in her life that she wasn't prepared to give up. So was House, though she'd been a bit relieved that he hadn't shown his face here. He hated change; she'd be shocked if she ever ran into him. Maybe there were some things she needed to let go of in order to really feel at home here.

But right now, she just needed a cheap alternative to a moving crew. (That's what she kept telling herself, at least.)
