Yes, she really pissed me off. Yes, she hurt me. I wanted soooo bad to be a vindictive and hurtful bastard. The Christian part of me forgives her.....the human part of me despises her....

This is, perhaps, the touch of a god perfection through the sewage that can be a terrible part of humanity?
It may sound out of sync from the label of my belief system, yet I still believe evil is the counterproductive parts of man's existence. To ascribe to the higher virtues does support higher evolution. It is when self-righteousness enters the picture, when the saved act like they are perfection just because they are saved, is when those subscribing to be Christians make a mockery of their beliefs and they totally miss the point of Christ dying upon the cross. You obviously understand the difference and the necessity of the separation between what is "godlike" in your faith and what is simply human emotion (and oftentimes, emotions are heralds to self-illusion and deception.) :)
And the act of forgiveness is not so much an act of servitude to the perpetrators as it is a stand not to allow those who hurt you to allow their continued onslaught of pain (or rather, allow their memories to continue doing you harm.) It is far more effective than many other methods others use to handle their controversies. It's a positive situation all the way around when it works. And for more reasons than I will discuss here, it almost always does work. Some of it spiritual, some of it psychological, some of is sociological. For if someone injures you, nine times out of ten it is something in you that actually needs the forgiveness that you give to others. People become symbols, representing things in ourselves that we do not like. Forgiveness sets all of this free, with a little help from the god who oversees the seeker. ;)
(You may or may not agree, but it's only my opinion and is not meant to be taken as a confirmed, incontestable hypothesis.) ;) Even I've used the forgiveness when needed, and it helped matters out quite well.
