kinkfest was great. saw old peeps from my last portland excursion, 3 years ago, which i thoroughly enjoyed. went to some interesting workshops: gracious service and healthy D/s relationships, edgeplay: why and what does it mean to play on the edge, anal fun times, and the art of flagellation (flogging). The speaker for the first two was definitely my fave. she had a lot of sass and wit abou her. totally engaging, entertaining and articulate. i also circulated the vending area and got myself a new suede flogger, and got to use it. yay! the play party was great (there were actually 3 but we got there late the first night and had to leave in early eve on sunday). lots of cool stuff happening. there were a lot of beautifully done rope suspensions, some play piercing, including a hook pull, lots of flogging, use of crops, whips, canes, etc. a little nakedness, some wrestling...among lots of other stuff. there was this one middle-aged woman whose top was flogging her with this enormous flogger that must have been 20-30 lbs. he had to use two hands...surreal. she could withstand a lot too. quite the sight to see. i'd like to go next year, i'll just have to make sure i'm able to get there a little earlier to go to the first play party.
