My computer is fixed! The repair guy just took out the battery and put it back in...and it was fine...he said sometimes the battery will randomly block the electricity from the outlet, so you get no power. Okay...haha. I'm so glad.
It's bitterly cold. I hate it but also love it cuz it gives my laziness and love of sleeping an excuse.
I don't really understand how I survive at a school like Brandeis doing as little work as I do. Most of the other people here are working their butts off all the time like you would expect at a hard school. But somehow I just continue to do the bare minimum and still pass my classes. I think part of it is that my major (anthropology) is relatively easy, and also that I have a special gift for bullshitting and doing things at the last possible second and having them turn out pretty well. Thank god for that. One thing I've learned since freshman year is that it's impossible for me to conquer my laziness and slacker personality and that I have to just embrace it. Which isn't hard to do, because honestly, who couldn't embrace staying up until 4:30 and sleeping until 12:30 even though you have class at 10 and 12?
Speaking of staying up, tonight Effy is sleeping over and I'm mad excited. Because a. I love sleepovers! Drew frequently makes fun of my 12 year old mentality of reveling in sleepovers and planning them out days in advance, but I just can't shake that middle school love and b. I love Effy and c. it's always been me with the boyfriend sleeping over and I'm excited to be on the other side now. And also, the main reason, is because I always become completely insane after midnight and the more people around to witness it, the merrier I become. Drew, sorry if it's really creepy that I wrote about Effy sleeping over in my livejournal. I just can't contain my joy.
Oh speaking of sleeping, this weekend some horrible guy walked into a girl's dorm room, where she was reading in bed, and dragged her out of bed and punched her repeatedly in the face, causing her to bleed, then tried to force her onto the bed again whereupon she kicked him in the stomach and he ran away. It was a stranger! She didn't even know the guy. Also, as if that isn't awful enough, he then went into another dorm and snuck into three separate girls' rooms while they were sleeping and touched their legs, then ran when they woke up. Um...WTF?? That's not the kind of thing that happens at Brandeis...they don't think it's someone who goes here. But still, beyond horrifying! We usually sleep with our door unlocked...which everyone seems to think is weird/scary. I guess they're right. I'm never leaving the door unlocked at night again! Eep!
My room is in shambles right now and I'm sooo tired because I stayed up until 4 last night but then, surprise suprise! I actually went to both my classes. So, time for cleaning and then a nap.
