Yet another entry! Yay! I'm so full of wordliness lately.
I had forgotten to mention that my Friday was rather weird to begin with. I walked in the frozen cold down to the park with the Senior Center where Jacqui teaches on Fridays, then followed her home to watch her lose her keys ten seconds before leaving the house, then on to her daughter's school to find out if they had some books for her and saw her daughter with her re-broken forearm (Big Fat :( because it was set improperly the first time--poor kid!) who gave me a hug, and then to the library where she uploaded grades for her community college students. When I told Jacqui of getting to visit my high school French teacher at her holiday party and that this is because
cayora is her niece by marriage, she said that I tell the weirdest stories.
We met up with her husband, Joe, at the Asian Arts Centre thingy just in time to overhear the end of a lecture trying to get more students into the Traditional Chinese Medicine College of Sports Medicine Certificate Program. Then he burned some moxa (artemisia vulgaris if you're curious) and gave some of us our very own brand new acupuncture needles. I might just enshrine mine due to my fear of needles.
When the whole thing was over, my wonderful T'ai Chi teacher took us--his wife and the TCM students: Greg and Piper, Diane and her daughter, Randy, Sam, and myself out for dim sum. And ordered it for us and paid for it all. So I have now tried duck with jellyfish. I'm definitely going back to that place.
Then we spent a few minutes running around a small Chinese market with a pharmacy of Chinese medicines, bootleg CDs and DVDs of anime, j-rock, Chinese pop, and so on, and many other odd things, like "Whipped Pocky" which I bought for Mark as a joke.
