Fill: A Week With Mama B 2c/? loves_books January 4 2013, 22:40:41 UTC

Oh, yes. This one’s a charmer alright. She can’t help but laugh softly as she replies, “I hope I look better in a dress than my Scooter, but I don’t want to know what you boys get up to in your own time!” Clearly startled by her reply, the young man hesitates a second before breaking out that huge smile again, and she continues, “Now what do I call you, son? You prefer Face, or Templeton?”

“Oh…” He seems stuck for a moment, blue eyes clouding with an unreadable emotion, and she wonders what she said wrong, but then Hannibal slips a hand onto his shoulder and the cloud is gone. “Just Face is fine, Ma’am.” And before she can correct him, tell him she’s ‘Mama’ to him as well, he turns to his colonel. “I’ll go grab the bags, Boss.”

“Sure thing, kid.” Hannibal offers her his arm as Face disappears back down to the van, and she bobs a curtsey in response to his bow. “Shall we, Mama?”

Her son has already taken Murdock inside - she can hear excited yelps from her front room, mingled with Scooter’s deeper voice - and she can’t help but smile, shaking her head a little as she and Hannibal follow them in. This could be a very interesting week indeed.

Oh wow what can I say I love it thank you!

Love the image of BA reading to children, her first impressions of the team before she meets them,teasing him about getting the baby pictures out and joking about B.A. in a dress. I think mothers were sometimes but on this earth to embarrass their kids.

Plus her mother senses when it comes to BA and Murdock and also Hannibal and Face.

Got to love Murdock all excited and BA opening the door so he runs into it. Also Hannibal's reassuring touches when he can properly sense Face is a little uncomfortable.

Will wait in anticipation for more.

p.s. I don't think we ever knew her name in the tv series.

Thanks Panda, I'm so glad you like it so far. More tomorrow probably - I need to look at what I've written again after I get some sleep!

Aww, such a lovely start. I really like Face's hesitation here, and the outsider POV is a treat. Looking forward to seeing where it all goes for them!

Thanks! I've never written an outsider POV before, so we'll see how it goes. More tomorrow hopefully.

I am seriously squealing so hard over this already.

B.A. and the Gruffalo and OMG could you image Mama B bringing a dude home to meet her Scooter!?!?

As always your B.A. is perfection, as is his Mama. :D
