[So, it's pretty obvious to Conchita that Grady would have something up his sleeve after that warning. Therefore, after the Librarian and Billy's conversation gave her an idea, she's decided to try something different with the filters. Rather than filter FROM Grady and the drones, she's decided to try filtering to specific houses only ( Read more... )

In person! abravelikehero March 20 2011, 08:16:36 UTC
[Why was she calling so many people over and over with the same thing?]

Um, if you really want to go somewhere you can use my bicycle. I bought it last week and is pretty good for getting around.

A bicycle?

[she considers.]

Are they ... easy to ride?

[they used horses in her time period...]

More or less, you have to balance a bit, but it's really easy when you're peddling.

Very well, I will take a look at it.

[peddling, though? She's skeptical - it sounds a bit unladylike. She expects him to take her to the bike.]

It's in the garage, I have a helmet too. It would be really bad to fall off and hit your head after all.

[It takes him a moment to realize that, but when he does he jumps up and leads her to where the car would be if they had one or could use one.]

[Well, if neither of them drive, then the fatties probably sold it for more groceries. Their life.]

A... A helmet? Like a knight's?

[now she KNOWS this is unladylike, but somehow she still follows]

[They need to fund that consumption somewhere....]

Eh? No, not really.

[He holds up the "helmet" which hardly really looked like one, or even useful.]

This was all they had at the store, but it's better than nothing!

[He then pulls out the bicycle, it was your pretty average 1950s bike.]

It looks ridiculous.

[she looks between the helmet and the bike.]

And it doesn't appear possible to ride this sidesaddle. How improper...

Well of course not, you need both feet on the peddles to turn the wheel....

[He sighs.]

And though it looks silly it's still better than nothing....

[Was he going to have to peddle her to wherever she was going himself?]

I am a Lady. I should be a passenger on this kind of device, not a ... [huff] peddler.

He will! He will if he feels he has to! abravelikehero March 20 2011, 09:05:13 UTC
But it really is a kind of, move yourself kind of thing. I mean, I guess you could maybe sit on the back or the handlebars and I could peddle but that would be really unstable....

Hmm... actually, that would be an acceptable solution.

But Almaz, you would know better than to let me fall, wouldn't you?

[He feared saying now, he was quite certain one day he might find her gnawing on him, so maybe it would be better to make her happy in other ways....]

I don't have a choice do I?

Of course not. If I request something, you must do it.
