Ataxia falls to her knees before William, another hand coming down on him, on his side, around his middle, perhaps Jeremy's as well, pushing him (or them) flat one way or another.. She jackal stares at him, shivering trembling.. and, the first noise she makes again after her yell is.. a sob, her muzzle dripping blackness down on William (and perhaps Jeremy).. "I hate you.." she whispers.. "Why.." she trails, her ears back deeply as she stares, something between a pathetic whimper and a growl rolling through her maw..
Where to start? There's really too much, actually.
Ataxia has experienced a missing emotion: Anger.
She's kept herself nearly
Bubbledoll in the aftermath of experiencing Pain for the first time, until now.
After spending herself venturing into
Strange to commune with
Onya, until the dragon decided that she was indeed losing herself to the virus, she ended up not protecting
Kelly at all, afterall. It all came through the back door, through
Sweet William, who she knew something was wrong with - his internal orders did not match his external at all. But she dared not pursue him further - everyone loved him, and cared for him so much, in her eyes, that she should not do more than whisper a few thoughts.
Her tour of the
Toymaker Labs with
Frostbyte and her sister
Lupe was cut short by the news. She finally changed Lupe all the way to Shadow as well, though it was hardly the event she had wished to intimately share with her still adjusting sister. Her anger at both herself and William was echoed between the near
Gestalt sisters, and they both determined to consume the strangehost whole, and possibly Kelly too, if that might save her from a possibly infected state - she's spent so much time avoiding such a state, and Ataxia has spent so much time helping, that the actual strain of doing that to her could be surpassed.
In Strange, Kelly seemed uninfected, but a wreck - but, there were few ways Ataxia could really be sure of anything. Walking out from Strange with Kelly held by her sister, she encountered William - and tried to consume him, as an answer to her anger. She could see the differing orders in William, his joy versus his external tears and play, but noone else could - had she dragged him off, like she had intended to, she would have ate him, and she wouldn't have gotten to see just how much she fell into his trap, too. All that she could do was make him happy, especially as more and more people gathered to shout her down as the villain, of all things.
The holding action was greatly extended. Ataxia was threatened by so many others, and she could only watch in horror as the pinned strangehost used
Jeremy as a shield, and cried - she was the only one who knew the lies being expressed. She tried to tell everyone, she's not sure that they really know anything, though. Inadvertently, Ataxia had done the exact opposite of what her new Anger had told her to, and rewarded the source of it dearly, perhaps as designed.
In the end, Ataxia healed William with her order - but noone's asked her why. Is it out of compassion, despite what she knows is only a
lie? Spite? An attempt at doing the opposite of what brought her so much more pain? Or, is there something more to it?
