Dear flist, I need your help. For one reason or another, I need ideas for artifacts/objects that are related to different fairy tale characters. And which might end up in a Pawn Shop. Like a quiver of arrows would belong to a Hunter, a grandfather clock would come out of Hickory Dickory Dock (the mouse would be human, I guess.)
I'm in a bit of a situation over a smallfandomfest prompt XP
Little tale of the day: I have lately realized that scary insects (spiders) in the summer are not scary when everything is dead in the winter, and have been crawling out my window at all hours of the night for motivational smokage. Or rather, fumbling out the window after extricating myself from blankets and my giant stuffed dog and cursing out soft surfaces which make it hard to return to an upright position. All this is when I realized that the stairs my dad put into the back yard (it slopes heavily into a ravine, ravines apparently being our thing), while scary in daytime, are terrifying at night. They're a little too tall and a lot too deep, the top landing is tilted, the "railing" is a 1ft high wall, there is gravel everywhere and the entire thing is in complete shadow, ie, black. I'm going to die. Or if not die, fall over, sprain something and take the tamper with me.
