Bloody hell but I love Power Play. A few people poked me on YT about putting up season 2, I'm not entirely sure what they were doing with season 1 but it has motivated me to start working on the second half. Which means: I'm watching 2.02 for a treat and I might need to upgrade Power Play back to "Top Three Favourite" Status. I mean, Parker is _completely unhinged_. And it _works_.
I have finally finished Mysterious Ways, which took a couple weeks. It's not that I forgot how much I liked the show, but along the way I did forget how much I love watching the show. The cast had something special together, and the lack of ongoing arcs allowed for gentle exploration of the characters and their relationships (with subtle growth). Tremendously calming. And worth a comparison with The Ghost Whisperer, actually. Plus there were some crazy fun guest stars.
Also notable: the girl who played Antigone on Being Erica, Jonathan Young (aka Tesla!), and Sgt Riley (aka Haig Sutherland).
But what makes me happiest is finding out that I WASN'T imagining the possible Declan/Miranda ship, and that Miranda was never shortchanged in favor of Peggy. In retrospect I could wish for a little more Miranda/Peggy, because very interesting things happen when they gang up against Declan, but alas, I'm sure that would have been in the 3rd season.
I'm still not sure what to say about last week's Being Erica. Part of me wants to discuss it beyond my initial during-episode barrage. Part of me can't. It was just so... MUCH. I feel like I can't process until this week's episode. Because either this week will explain why last week had so many disparate elements pushed so far, or... (The "or..." really isn't a good thing, so I won't even think it.)
Haven: I need to watch the finale again. it was just a little too much to process since it begs reconsideration of the entire season. And I only saw it the once. Chat consumes me. :D
Top Chef Desserts: There is something wrong with that show. This week's episode was just craziness, and not even in a good way. It began strangely, it ended strangely, and all I can hope is next week it will have settled into professionalism and we'll look back on this first season as being anomalous. On a related note, am I the only one who thought the majority of Heidi Klum's 'casual wear' line were deathly ugly making that entire challenge lame on Project Runway? I justify my diversion into reality shows because yesterday I (almost literally) bumped into Bryan Voltaggio (from Top Chef). He lives super close to me so it was bound to happen, and I kinda stared because I knew I recognized him but it took me a moment to remember where and if I was supposed to say hi. Then my mum wanted to stalk him. >.<
Fringe: I'm actually now watching this show (nearly) on time. My reaction, in one word: CHARLIE. ! He's totally getting dragged back to 'our' timeline with 'our' Olivia, right? Rightright? And it will be Epic and All will be Forgiven about that whole Firing incident last year.
