but anyways. MEH, Mars Volta just copied the old band Rush.
They did it pretty well though. When they were "At the Drive In' and now 'Mars Volta' but Rush i think is still better. MV tried to copy Rush's whole style, they copied their complicated and fast tempos and scales, and even that high pitched goddamn squeeky chipmunk voice.
The other band that is tyring to at least emulate Rush, is Coheed and Cambria. At least their trying to emulate Rush's style on a bit less complicated musical leval, but still with all the Chipmunk voice intact.
not that you care, or that it matters. But goddamn am i bored right now.

now... if i wasn't tired as shit id go on a long rant telling you why you are wrong (in a mature, not stupid, "you suck for thinking that!" fashion). but, like i said im tired as shit and really don't feel like it. But I will say a bit...
I definetely see of course the comparison as far as vocals between the two bands... but come on, if you have actually listened to the mars volta (not just the new single, and not saying you havent listened to them) I just can't believe that you could sit there and say they are trying to emulate rush. i mean wow, you wanna compare the two bands, great... but to say they are trying to be like rush is pretty dumb. i also of course see the comparison to coheed and rush, a lot more than the mars volta, and agree with that as well. anyways im very tired so im gonna go now. i didnt actually defend my view very well ill admit so ya know maybe tomorrow if i feel like it ill actually say something more... anyways rush is a great ( ... )
