(no subject)
Yeah, I haven't been around much lately... for that, I absolutely do not apologize. Been workin' and such... as a matter of fact, I think I'll put some elbow grease into this one and burn some time while I'm at it.
Monday: work 10 to 6, climb, open mic @ Nuart 8 to 1
Tuesday: work 10 to 6, BULB leaders' meeting 6:30 to 8, Proverbs Bible study 8 to 9:30, maybe hit up the Nuart after
Wednesday: 1 Timothy small group study 8:30 to 10, work 10 to 6, BULB youth group 7 to 9
Thursday: work 10 to 6, climb or international game night 6:30 to 8, prime time and/or chill at lukes 9:30 to ??
Friday: work 10 to 6, climb 6:30 to 8, maybe Nuart movie nite if its a good one
Saturday: sleep in, go skiing or go to seattle, try to avoid cleaining room
Sunday: church @ CLC, Bridge Bible, or The Crossing; lunch with the fam, try to avoid cleaning room some more, Nuart movie nite part 2

so anyway, there are some pretty exciting things happnin on the side, like reading thru the New Testament and Harry Potter IV and thinking about reading a bunch of other books, burning CD mixes, trying to write stuff that doesn't suck. Interestingly enough, Luke has recruited me to read some of my pieces against a Pink Floyd-esque "background" at some shows coming up, and we'll do them about once a month. Definitely wouldn't mind prayer for that... that and whether or not I should go to Thailand this summer. I'm thinkin I should, but there are factors, ya know. I can fill you in on that whole story if you really wanna know, cuz I don't want to waste me time or yours putting it here... and that's about all I have to say about that.
but what would a chrisotto post be without some philosophical ponderable? I was just noticing the other day how dark the future looks. Pretty enlightening, eh? Well, I kind of subconsciously added up a bunch of smaller factors about the youth of today/tomorrow. Not all of them, of course, but most. Things like the fact that they have no vocabulary outside of different combinations of swear words... they have no problem entertaining themselves with music and movies that portray women as whores - objects, even- but happy about life, and people are ok with it... they have no foresight whatsoever, no concept of cause-and-effect... no drive to seek a destiny or purpose to life... they will actually believe what they see on TV without even thinking to question it... sex for recreation... everything is a joke, nothing is sacred... on and on and on. The worst part is that they act like you're offending them when you try to show them this pollution. Anyway, I don't see an easy answer to this all, but I'm always a firm believer in living by example. And some serious prayer. Just don't be one of them... your life will be infinitely more fulfilling...
