Of course, America is out and about. He's been doing an obsessive amount of researching and tallying up notes and memos to read and put together later, a large amount of information he's found not being shared with others. Taylor more than likely notices America at the end of the corridor, about to enter the engineering complex. He stops, leaning into what appears to be an interesting piece of... wall that is right next to the entrance. And then he's writing, muttering to himself

Taylor hears him before she sees him - mostly because he's damn loud. She recognises the voice, and the face, from the network. The guy who claimed he was America. She almost thinks about turning back around and heading the other way before he spots her, but then he's patting his gun and talking about heading into the engineering complex. She rolls her eyes, can't quite make herself ignore something that sounds like it could end up making a big mess.

"I don't think being awesome is the qualifier they're going to be looking for." Capable and rational were more likely.

He stops what he's doing instantly when he hears a girl speaking to him. Alfred's attention diverts as it so often does before he laughs, if not sounding a bit nervous.
"Dude, I don't know what you're talking about! I was just really going to take a look around, that's all! No more no less. Not even gonna touch anything like tampering with wires and tubes and trying to figure out what all this bad boy runs on totally not at all! Our hands are clean at this!"

He shows his hands to her, wiggling his fingers, as does his little alien friend too. Then, he puts his hands on his hips.

"I bet you were totally thinking about going in there, huh?"

Taylor looks between him and the little alien, their hands. She takes a moment to wonder why the hell 'America' had a little alien guy with him anyway. Surely it should be an eagle or something. Chubbs definitely wants to go check him out, but he's well-behaved enough to stay by Taylor's feet, only his shaking tail showing his contained interest.

"Maybe." She wasn't going to pretend otherwise, but she was fully aware she wasn't authorised. She just had a tendency to ignore rules. "Wasn't going to go in with my hand on my gun, though."

We honestly don't know why America has any of the pets he does back home. He got the alien from Roswell back in the 1940's, but the reason why he as a pet whale is sort of a mystery besides the fact he loves whales (see previous icon.) He loves them a lot.

At that, he quirks a smile on his lips.

"Excellent! We can go in together! That way if I get blamed for something, there's the possibility hat it was actually our fault since two people are going in!"

Talk about not knowing social skills or when to keep your mouth shut.

He strokes the holster with his gun in it then looks at her in question, "Why? You don't know what could be behind there; it could be something dangerous!"

"I like being ready. Not overeager." And she really wouldn't be surprised if he was trigger-happy. That would make sense, if he was America, wouldn't it.

"But I'm not going in there with you." He wasn't her team. No one here was, but at least Jennie was from the Academy. She could work with her. She wasn't going to work with some guy who claimed he was the personification of an entire country, and only, so far, seemed to be displaying the most negative stereotypical traits possible.
