The "host", as it were, was sitting on one of the couches in the corner to await the arrival of those who had said they would attend. She made sure to bring what little identification she had to validate who she was, just in case people asked. She could remember everything now, every detail of what happened before she arrived. She didn't have the help of the only two friends she had left. She felt on edge now, standing in the midst of strangers, especially since she was practically giving them orders... She didn't want it to come out like that. Still, a little push went a long way, and she was grateful to see some people taking initiative ( ... )

Purple book, meet purple book. Chase's was paper, tattered and yellow and stained and a light lilac, but she was holding on to it for dear life as she entered the area. Immediately spotting the dark-haired girl, her face lit up.

Some familiarity. Chase liked familiarity. It was the reason why she took small, calculated steps to the woman and then offers an equally small hand.

"It's nice to meet you in person."

She noticed that, at least, and looked over curiously. She didn't expect the girl to approach but given what she had seen about her - the inquisitive and forward nature she had - she shouldn't have been surprised.

Re-l wanted to know more about her. She was interesting.

She offered Chase a faint and polite smile, taking her hand and shaking it. Far be it from her to pass it up. "Likewise. I'm glad several people came." Unspoken, she was also glad that Chase came. She seemed one of the few with a good head on her shoulders. "What do you think of everything so far when it comes to how we're...staffed?" A loose term; they weren't organized in the least.

Staffed. That seemed like a funny word to Chase, but she knew what Re-l meant. At least she thought she did. People were far more confusing than dealing with Prise or prophecies, but she was pleased she at least got a hand shake.

"As for staffed I still think a definite structure of jobs, designation and the like is needed, but I also realize I'm not the one to do it." She offered a tiny, tiny smile. "Perhaps Ward or Resnik. Otherwise, we're like animals."

"Would Ward and Resnik even be able to have authority over us? Yes, they command the ship, but if we were to find them... Well, anyone could overthrow them with enough power once they understood the workings of the ship." The look on Re-l's face, however, suggests that she doesn't want that to happen at all.

"But hopefully they could approve some things so that people had some form of authority to look up to beyond whomever we end up putting in charge of all of us."

"Unfortunately..." Chase doesn't look to happy about it, either, and after a few moments of staring off into space she sighs.

"I was never the politician," She finishes, and tucks a strand of hair back behind her ear. Re-l is pale, tall, and actually quite beautiful. It's the stern look on her face, the way she holds her jaw..

"You remind me of someone I knew. Sort of. You carry yourself very elegantly."

"Not many are." And she can hardly expect a young girl like her to be a politician, even if she wording and body language scream that she's much more than she seems. Much, much more. "Not that I'd blame anyone. It seems like a thankless job."

Re-l raises an eyebrow, looking down at her. "Thank you. Who was that, if you don't mind my asking?"

"Mariah." Chase smiles slightly, somewhat, looking a little bashful. It's odd, even talking about her. There was a strict rule on the ship to just drop it, especially if her father--no, her creator was around.

Of course that meant her brother would bring it up at every moment. He stopped after a while, but...

"She had your poise. People called her the Messiah. Believed to bring down the entirety of the Red Army."

Stats has talked to several people before coming to Re-l.

"Hello. I'm Stats. Nice to meet you. So, how is it going so far?"

She gave him a polite smile and a nod when he approached.

"Likewise." She glanced around the room. "It's...unorganized, but coming along smoothly. We have a few volunteers and plenty of people willing to step forward with something to use for the ship and for whatever we need."

"That's good. I've been helping left and right so far. I have a lot of scientific knowledge and lots of experience in teaching, and I would like to apply it."

"What sort of scientific knowledge?" It could easily be useful and it was definitely something she was interested in. "Do you know anything about this ship?"

statsraaden December 12 2011, 22:12:49 UTC
Well, astronomy, although I have no idea where we are, fluid mechanics, physics, human biology...
I'm afraid I don't really know how the ship works. I haven't had much information so far, though. Only the bit about wormholes.

She raised an eyebrow. "Fluid mechanics?"

"Well, I had to use it to sail. And to predict local wind patterns, waves, and so on."
