[ It takes some time and positioning, but he finally gets the com-device to where he wants it before double-checking that he's posting to the network at large.

The video starts and others will be able to see a small, blonde man settled in a chair, brows furrowed with a hint of mild concern. ]Right, yes, hello ( Read more... )

[ Hey, Watson, look. An alien. ]

Good to know there's a doctor on board.

Looks like you've got your job cut out for you, though.

[ Oh god, what are you? John's pokeface is pretty good, though, aside from the blink of surprise and the way he unconsciously licks, then pinches his lips. ]

I've got some time.

[ Here, Garrus, have a sample of the fine art of humor in the form of drastic understatement. ]

[ He kind of notices, but doesn't think much of it. You seem cool, Doctor, and he laughs. Complete with strange voice reverberations around the laughing. ]

Don't we all.

I'd offer some help, but. I won't be very good at teaching anyone to be human.

[ You seem intriguing, sir. You sound like a sir, anyway. ]

You could tell me a little about yourself, if you like, particularly if you'd be interested in receiving medical attention in the future, or helping me to give medical attention to someone like you.

[ He hopes that's reassuring and not rude. ]

[ Naw, it's cool, doc. If anything he's just a little bewildered that people don't know what he is. Turians aren't exactly uncommon, throughout galactic space. ]

Was that a polite way of asking what I am, doctor?

[ He sounds friendly -- he's teasing, really. ]

I take it non-humans aren't common, where you're from.

[ He has to laugh a little at that. It's certainly worked. ]

That it was. I'm sorry.

We've got animals, but nothing sentient enough to speak back to us. We've barely left our planet, where I'm from.

There's a bit of fantasy in our world regarding non-humans, but no actual, well, 'aliens' is the word there. Don't suppose that applies here.

I'd be more interested in hearing your name first, if I haven't totally put you off.

[ A very broad, genuine smile, clearly in the mood for good humor now. ]

[ Garrus returns the smile to -- the best of his ability. It's mostly in those beady little eyes. And the mandibles. Don't worry, Watson,m you'll get used to it. ]

It's fine, doctor. But interaction between different sentient species across the galaxy is -- common, where I'm from, so I'm adjusting to being regarded as something, well. Alien.

Interaction was common, not always positive. Humans and we turians actually don't get on that well, usually.

[ For now, he's not quite sure what to make of the motions. It's very strange, very strange indeed. He'd be more intimidated in person, he believes, but right now it's actually a little fascinating. Surreal. ]

I'm sorry to hear that.

[ He offers, his brows dropping at the mention of aliens and humans not getting along. Couldn't say he was surprised, though. ]

Do you object to being treated by humans, then?

[ To be fair, the aliens and humans not getting along part was because the turians attacked first, and the war only lasted a couple of months. But it was a war, and tensions remain.

Garrus, on the other hand, is more of a peaceable guy, and he shakes his head. ]

Not at all, Doctor. I believe we should work together. [ And a bit of a laugh; ] But I've always been a terrible example of a turian.

The name's Garrus. Garrus Vakarian.

Well, Garrus, I can't say anything for turians, but you seem to be a reasonable fellow and I'm obliged to work with you.

What can you tell me about turians, ah, physically? If you don't mind. You look more durable than a human.
