[ It takes some time and positioning, but he finally gets the com-device to where he wants it before double-checking that he's posting to the network at large.

The video starts and others will be able to see a small, blonde man settled in a chair, brows furrowed with a hint of mild concern. ]Right, yes, hello ( Read more... )

If there's is a way to possibly just get a written list of symptoms, signs and other such things, then the whole allowing us to be at anyone's mercy on nothing more then a simple protocol based trust on those who are medics would be preferable. As well as why or if it is normal for these bodies to leak fluids.

[Sorry Watson, he wants help, but paranoid one is paranoid.]

What you're asking me to do is give you every medical book in existence.

[ He frowns somewhat, but his tone continues to be gentle. ]

There are some people that don't trust doctors, or have had poor experiences with them. If you like, we can do everything over a private video feed. I don't mind that at all - whatever you'd be comfortable with, really.

Although I'd like to point out that you'd be no more at my mercy than you would be anyone else's. I also can't see what I'd have to gain by trying to teach you how to care for yourself, aside from a clearer conscience.

Then just a list of the more common things one needs to know about functioning in a body that is highly inefficient in many ways would be appreciated. There is likely to be a research facility somewhere on this vessel in which supplementary information can be acquired.

[You can't see it but the edge of his earlier panic attacks is still there.]

Nothings is truly private, especially with so many unknown variables and skill levels. Security breaches are a given until it can all be sorted. Still don't know if any of them are here as well who'd like to finish what they started back on earth.

You could be unknowingly helping them with this. I'm not keen to compare the effects of being shot in the back between my old form and this organic body if they are here.

Listen - the best way to learn is to learn by doing, in this situation. Also, there's a lot of particulars to diagnosis; it's why becoming a physician requires so many years of training and experience.

I don't know what to tell you other than that I'm only trying to help, and I'm willing to do just about anything to make you comfortable, barring attempting to try and make you a list for self-diagnosis. It's much less time consuming to simply show you.

I'm headed to the kitchen on the first dock of the passenger quarters now, to see a patient. I'm going to make them something to eat and show them how. It's a public place. Why don't you come and meet me there and I'll feed you. Of course, you'd be free to leave at any time, but at least give me a chance.

We're all in this together right now. I promise you, I won't let anyone hurt you while you're with me.

[He hasn't quite realized yet he forgot to switch to audio as he just looks at you. Completely ignoring the rumpled, barely won the fight with the clothing and back pressed against a wall.]

Medics[It's mumbled but can be heard if one is listening well enough.]

Fine! Though I still maintain the right to not like or understand the odd fueling and recharge habits of humans.

[ Red Alert might notice John's eyes center a little and pass over him. He thinks that he's just won the other's approval to see him, not that it's a mistake. ]

Please, feel free to complain about them all you like, so long as you still perform them. I assure you - humans often feel the same way.

See you when you get here.

(( OOC: You can either sliiide down with us in Heatwave's thread, or we can assume Heatwave has just left? ))

[Oh he noticed and his eyes narrow at that, before he realizes and fumbling, all the fumbling as he tries to see what he did. Human fingers why do you betray him so?]

And no way to upgrade such.

((OOC: Likely best to stay here as I have to go grocery shopping now so I don't want to hold you two up.))

[ He sympathizes, except he's just not very good with technology without a bit of fumbling about. ]

Not unless aging counts as an upgrade.

I've got to set the device down now, but I'll be here in the kitchen.

[ Making food for you. You should show up. Please be guilt-tripped into making a good decision. ]

(( OOC: Okay! Not a problem! ))

[He would say something about this but instead he just gives a stiff nod. Before he manages to shut the device off. It takes a bit for him to finally decide to show up and make his way there. Twitching and staying close to cover and walls as much as possible.

And so the elusive Red Alert, paranoius cybertonian has entered unknown territory once again. Don't think he's going to be a picture of obedience when it comes to health though. He was a trouble patient even before the transformation.]

So what is it that can not be taught by a simple document or program? [He left the safety of his closet for this, Enjoy it Watson it won't happen often.

How about chewing?

[ He offers, offering a warmer smile toward the cagey, decidedly young thing in what is currently his kitchen, considering he'll be mostly here all day.

He'll have to reheat the eggs, but for now, there's toast, jam, honey, and bacon. There are three pieces of toast on a plate, one which he takes for himself and the others of which he places on the table in front of a seat for the other. ]

Pick up a piece and take a bite. Shouldn't go past the corners of your lips.

[ He'll demonstrate the size of the bite that should be taken, and chews, perhaps a bit exaggeratedly, before swallowing. ]

The goal here is to mash up everything with the teeth near the back until it's soft and easy to swallow. Give it a try. Best to keep your lips shut while you do it, if you can.

[He almost feels insulted as he has been around humans for the past two decades, but seeing them and actually operating as one are sadly not the same thing. It still won't stop him from giving you a flat look from his position just shy of being plastered against the door with arms crossed.]

Is there a bare minimum amount of such refueling that can be given and why is it necessary to have so many different items? Is there an actual purpose each item to be process serves? Or could this all end for the day if I intake the same amount you just did?

[He's still not getting near just yet as he keeps looking around for a threat and skittering one way or another at any sound that may be someone entering the kitchen.]

Bare minimum depends on the person.

[ Good god, man, but you're a fidgety one. He reaches over and sips from his tea, which he spent a long time trying to find, and it really wasn't all that good. Tea was tea, though. ]

Being healthy means eating three full meals a day. And yes, eating different foods satisfies a diet, which people need to be healthy. For example, this toast is made of carbohydrates, which is the first source of energy that a body will got through. Carbohydrates are the stuff you need to eat the most.

[ He's being very patient, despite the clear irritation radiating off of Red Alert. ]

You'll have to eat until you're full. You'll know when that's happened, but I'm sure a bite of toast is not going to do it.

Will you please sit down?

Why do you humans not have frame specifications? It would be far simpler then guesswork.

[I'm sorry John, but he got lost halfway through that speech, that and the fact he's still trying to wrap his mind around the idea of eating three times a day. If the horrified expression on his face is anything to go by. Oh wait it might also be because you asked him to come closer.]

That's a waste of hours that could be used towards ones duties and job. The weekly rations from before were already in the way of monitoring the base and you're now saying I must let my guard down every day to refuel, and not just once a day, but multiple times?

[He's moved to a different wall, it's closer then before! In that chair right there? Is that where you want him? Nope.jpg.]

All I can do is guesswork when you won't come within a meter of me.

[ A little more cooly, though he takes a bit of his toast and doesn't shift his eyes to watch the other move; he'll just keep him in his periphery. ]

Multiple times, if you'd like to continue living.

You'll also need to wash yourself and sleep.

I'm perfectly functional as is, I don't believe there's any reason for tactile analysis at this point.

[Sloooow slide closer, wait nope that was an odd feeling, damn skin and nerves. And he's off the wall at least.]

Decontamination is a given, considering how many corroding elements there are just within the atmosphere of any planet, let alone what could possibly be lurking in ventilation shafts of an unknown in origin ship that we have no manifesto or ship log to see if it has traveled to any of the planets marked as hostile.

[Waaaait a minute, did you say sleep? That's enough to stop him midstep and a wobble as he attempts to stay balance before settling on both feet again.]

Sleep? You mean as in to take the rest afforded by a suspension of voluntary bodily functions and the natural suspension, complete or partial, of consciousness?

[ Translation: he's not going to have trouble getting you to wash up. Good. ]

Sleep does a lot for the human body. Helps it repair, helps it store memories. Dreams. Have you ever dreamed before?

[ Curious now. ]

Well, suppose you haven't, if you've never slept before.
