[ on pops the video, and again looking into the screen is one young looking brunette. (everyone’s favorite architect) this time though, she is looking slightly happier - perhaps even more calm - as she clearly is smiling into the device. (she's trying like hell to hide her fear and she seems to be doing well okay.)

a small shrug of her shoulders, ( Read more... )

I did a bit of exploring on the other floors when we first arrived, but wasn't able to find much except for locked doors.

Is there anything that might have stood out in the design -- or maybe some obvious repetitive features throughout?

All of the floors looked the same, but I think that was just the design. Only real difference was that most of the doors were locked, but some could be opened.

Why do you ask?

Maybe.

I'm really curious as to the pattern that might actually be with these floors. Sure they might all be generic, but they're meant to serve a purpose. Having an idea of that would help us understand the ship slightly more - prevent us from getting lost and what not.

A map would probably help out with that, too. [ still sounding a bit perturbed about the distinct lack of one.

and suddenly filtered: ]

I'd be interested in going with you, if you decided to explore.

If you wouldn't mind, that would be great. [ a pause, knowing she needs to word things cautiously with people she isn't sure with still. ]

I know there are places that aren't recommend places to go. But, knowing what might be there, or leading to it seems like it is a good idea.

Nowhere I explored had anything to worry about. But if we happen to encounter any danger, I can get us out.

What exactly can you do? [ a beat ] I'm sorry, I don't even know you're name.

[ simply, as if it should be obvious: ] Fight back.

It's Natasha. What's yours?

Well I figured that. [ said more obviously then anything, as she let her curiosity still slip out. ] I mean, what do you do - back home?

And I'm Ariadne. [ a beat ] Nice to meet you.

How is that relevant to exploring the ship?

[ evasiveness, thy name is romanoff. ]

You as well.

[ good thing she knows how to deal with people like that. ]

Some of the skills people possess back home clearly might be of use to us here. Saying you can fight back, doesn't really say much. As if push comes to shove, I can fight back if need be.

It's the matter of skill you possess that is important.

[ well. color natasha subtly impressed. ]

Very well. I do a number of things back home, advanced armed and hand-to-hand combat are among the skills in my repertoire. I can also help keep track of the patterns of the floors and take notes on whatever we find.

[ not revealing what her actual job is, at least not yet. ]
