Updates for mum because Whatsapp drives me mad. ^^

To start this all off with, I just heard some noises in the tiny little messy garden behind my bedroom since I have the window open... turns out there were (at least) three huge black squirrels running and climbing around. What a thing to wake up to. ^^

I was flying with Air Transat and passenger reviews online had me pretty spooked out, but it all turned to be better than I expected.

I was first seated at the window next to a couple, but the plane wasn't full, so I was transferred to another window seat with nobody on the seat next to me, which was pretty neat service.
My last-minute meal change wasn't put through, but I got a great vegan curry masala anyway. It was however incredibly spicy and I had to take it really easy in order to not be sick. What a loser. The tiny little salad (iceberg and a slice of tomato) with balsamic vinaigrette and some fresh fruits were great as well. When they handed out a secondary snack later on, I was kind of bummed that I was surrounded by the smells of melted cheese and tomato sauce, but one of the flight attendants later handed me an orange and an apple, which were also really fresh and great. <3

The lady at the passport check seemed kind of weary when I told her that, among other things, I'd be visiting a friend I'd met online through a mutual love of Japanese pop music and who I'd last seen three years ago in Japan. God some angry red and pink markers and was plucked out of the line for... another passport check. Looking at the line there it turns out they were pretty much picking out everyone travelling solo. A Dutch lady living in Toronto who was also selected told me they must have got a tip or something because straight out of the plane we were also required to show our passports. TT After having shown my declaration card a whopping number of THREE times, I picked up my suitcase (the entire belt was empty, everyone on my plane was gone already >.<) and after showing my card for the fourth and last time, I was on my way to the airport express bus.

Halfway down that trip I started feeling incredibly sick and basically puked up the complementary fruits from the plane, lol. What a way to start my vacation. So sorry to the other peeps on the bus. I can't describe the feels of happiness after my stop was announced.

The guy running the guesthouse is super nice, it's all pretty quiet here and the neighbourhood is okay. Lots of students living in the area, so nothing I'm not used to. The two girls in the room next to mine have major issues with the owner though and vice versa, so I'm hoping to be left out of that from now on. XD

Today will be... walking to the bike rental place at Bathurst to pick up my bike and I'll stop by some grocery stores and parks and Fuel+ on the way there for brunch, I guess. ^^ Their website has amazing smoothies and shakes and snacks and wraps and omg. <3

Then I'm meeting Jess tonight for dinner and the opening ceremony to Pride. Woohoo.

I'm still a bit groggy though so I might actually grab a late siesta later on today.

life, public
