So.... Mr. Simple
I've ranted about this on Facebook and e-mail to some, but WHY is this song so bad? I can't really use anything but my sadface!Hae icon for this entry.
I like the writer. He's responsible for some of my favourite Korean songs ever (I mean, Scandal even. SCANDAL! ♥), but their last three title tracks have sounded absolutely the same. And I mean, absolutely the same. From the way the verses and bridge are done, to the repetitive 'dan dan dan dan' singing. Hell, they even recycled the choreography for this song.
WHY SME. WHY.
Then there's that annoying electro sample that sounds like every single dance track released in the past two years that really just makes me want to punch something in the face. When I want crappy dance tunes, I'll go out clubbing. When I listen to SuJu, I want proper Kpop.
Thank god this is apparently their last SuJu Funky (which was never really 'funky' to begin with, unless 'funky' in Korea means repetitive and recycled) song/mv and hopefully the repackage title track will be better. I feel sorry for TeukChul to have to say goodbye with crap like this. I thought it might grow on me, but the more I listen to this song, the more I realise what a freaking messy trainwreck it is. This song makes less sense than Trick, which is saying something. At least Trick had the excuse of actually being made up of five different songs. They must have known ELF will take any shit thrown at them. Apparently Teukie said that we need to listen to the lyrics instead of the song, which is basically him admitting he thinks it's shit too. Maybe they should have done a ballad then, it's easier to focus on lyrics when there's no annoying samples thrown at you. /angry rant.
Right. Let's see if the rest of the album is any better. I haven't really properly listened to it yet.
오페라 (Opera)
I really liked this song from the first time I listened to it. The verses sound like a Chris Brown song, while the chorus is pretty much Taiwanmei. As in, exactly Taiwanmei. I love that song though, so I'll let them get away with it, just because I feel bad for hating so much on the title track. The electronics in the background in this song are so much less annoying. This song is like the Nappeun Yeoja (Boom Boom) of their previous album. This is how you make awesome tracks, SME.
라라라라 (Be My Girl)
If someone were to come up to me going 'ralaralarala' I'd turn and run. Unless it's Donghae. The chorus is nice and catchy though (it's like... reverse Happy Bubble).... but this song is still kind of boring. Maybe I'll like it better once I'm able to sing it along. I like the bridge. But in general this song is kind of lackluster and boring. It's not even trying.
Walkin'
WTFISTHIS. Who is that even in the beginning? Siwon? Then Sungmin? This might have been something for me to listen to all summer. Too bad they released it in August. This song might become what SHINee's 'Wowowow' was on Lucifer. One of those songs I love to listen to when it's sunny and I'm wandering around in town or something. XD
폭풍 (Storm)
KRYED ballad? Whatever. It's Ryeowook and Yesung singing a ballad. Can't really go wrong there. This song will grow on me and then I'll put it on repeat for hours. This is basically all of my current favourite members in one song. I have no reason to complain.
어느새 우린 (Good Friends)
Now this at least sounds a little bit funky and soulful. They all sound really weird in this song though. I hardly recognize their voices. I love Shindong's voice at this one part (way to be clear). ♥
결투 (Feels Good)
First thing I thought when I heard this was: AUTOTUNE GO DIE. But thank god it's not there throughout the entire song (but then again it's not a BIGBANG/2NE1 song). Again, this song might become a bit less boring once I'm able to sing it along. The lyrics remind me of The Girl is Mine. hearts;
기억을 따라 (Memories)
This song has all of my favourite singers (contrary to popular belief, I really love Sungmin's voice). Don't really know what else to say about it. Ballad ballad blah blah.
해바라기 (Sunflower)
This song starts out so adorably. And then continues to be absolutely adorable. I love this track. ♥ I love Donghae's voice in this. Biased? What? Who? Me?
엉뚱한 상상 (White Christmas)
THIS IS CONFUSING WHY IS IT CALLED WHITE CHRISTMAS IT IS AUGUST. That aside, this song sounds like something from back in the day, which makes me so happy. ♥ I kind of can't listen to this song until November, at least though. I hate it when people put Christmas songs on regular albums. TT

Donghae & Chance composed this track, right? Therefore it is obviously perfect. Just kidding, bias aside, I actually really like this song. ♥
My Love, My Kiss, My Heart
I love this song from the intro even, although I was slightly reminded of 'Don't you ever stop', lmao. That said, they need more regular RnB tracks like this, because they're good at them. They don't need all that weird dancy shit. The bridge for this song is fucking perfect. This is totally my second favourite song after Opera. Or maybe it's actually my favourite song. Ryeowook and Yesung are kind of flawless in this? are they ever not?
Overall I say this album is kind of boring. Less boring than Bonamana was, though. But I know from experience that SuJu albums REALLY need to grow on me. I've never loved any of their albums from the first time listening. I usually love one or two songs and play those over and over again and then start to pay attention to the rest of the album. I used to thing Angela was the most boring song ever and now it's one of my favourites. *shrugs*
