A fun day!
pierrekrahn rode over to our house at the crack of down and we went to the farmers' market. The chanterelle lady was there (!!), so I bought a big bag. We also loaded up on some veggies.
This afternoon I froze some broccoli and more beans from the garden. We have about a million tons of beans in the freezer now (ok, four batches), and there are more on the vines. I am attempting to keep up this year and not get behind.
We went for a drive before coming home for dinner. New York striploins, grilled veggies (patty pan squash, sweet onion, peppers), sautéed chanterelles, and grilled bread drizzled with olive oil. :9 Then we drove up to Half Moon.
Half Moon is up in Lockport, just north of Winnipeg. It's a nice, scenic drive for us to get up there, and the diner is a nice stopping point. They do good burgers and fries, but we stopped there tonight for shakes.
