Good news
Because I need some... My UPS works! :)
The sun was out when I got up this morning, and since my computer desk faces away from the window I didn't notice the sky getting really dark until I heard distant thunder. Then, my UPS started freaking out, and the lights started flickering - off, on, off, on. I decided it was time to shut the computer down.
The storm wasn't anything like the one we had last July, thankfully. Some wind, some hail, and lots of rain. We might be getting another hit later today, but for now it's cooled off a lot. Thankfully. My migraine is gone, too. I vacuumed the foster's room, played with her a bit, started some laundry, and made lunch.
I think I may do some writing today. I have a story that - if it comes out of my head the way I want it to - I might consider sending to Escape Pod. I can dream, right?
