Atalanta and the Terrible, Horrible, No Good, Very Bad Day
LOL, okay maybe I'm a over-exaggerating a little bit here (who, me??), but still, it's been a pretty lousy day so far.
1. Got a parking ticket when I got back from my early-morning meeting. As the security officer pulled up to write me the ticket, I was just walking up to my car. And the jerk gave it to me anyway! I literally got there two seconds after he did, and my meter was expired by a minute at the most (I know because I clocked it when I put the coins in the meter). When he handed me the ticket and I gave him the "Are you shitting me?" look, he was like, "Hey, you have to get here before I do, ma'am." Jackass.
2. As if my day hadn't started out lovely enough, I then had to go to the dentist. I'm guessing they didn't have dentists back in Dante's day, because if they did, I'm pretty sure they would have featured prominently in one of his layers of Hell. I had two cavities. Sigh. I guess I should look at the bright side, because I'm twenty-six years old and these are my first cavities ever, so that's pretty damn good. That, and my dental insurance has great coverage, so it won't cost too much to get them filled, but still...I will be having nightmares about drills all weekend.
3. No one is here at the office today, which only makes me feel more bored and unmotivated. Well, the only other person here besides me is our super annoying administrative assistant who has developed a habit of stalking me. I'm hoping my mostly-shut office door and frantic typing on the keyboard will be a hint for her to leave me alone. Not very optimistic though...
On the plus side, things are going much better with the BF - I think we both just needed a breather because I basically gave him some space and did my own thing for a couple of days and things got right back to normal between the two of us. I was probably overreacting a little bit the other day (who, me?? XD), but I'm glad I vented about it here in my LJ rather than to my BF because it would've completely freaked him out. Hehe.
Lastly, more good news, I won a shiny at H&V's Reverse Challenge! I'm a teensy bit disappointed that "To Be of Use" didn't win anything, but considering the fierce competition I faced in every category I was nominated in, I'm quite content to run away with this pretty banner that "Boomerang" managed to snag. :)
Okay, now I'm off to get some work done before beginning what I hope will be the Fantastic, Wonderful, Fun-Filled, Very Good Weekend! XD
