Jon and I make a comparable amount of money to many of his friends that are older than us and have children, and of course our prospects for the future are much better, and the type of work we do is much more pleasant. I don't feel bad about it in the least.
You've got it exactly right. We are lucky that we don't have to work as dishwashers until we are 70.

Um. Yeah. I don't know of any job that gives you warnings about how it will affect your personal life. And given how SMART these people (academics in general, and Bitch PhD's cohorts) want you to think they are, you'd think they could have worked out for themselves that waiting until you are super old to have kids is a bad idea.
This is a classic case of times when you (I) should just stop reading. But I can't! ;)
