I just got home from seeing Ira Glass. I'm all warm and fuzzy. Aside from being afraid that my uterus would explode all over the damn venue (thank you lady parts, once again, for your lovely influence on my life) it was a really wonderful evening. It was really amazing to hear that oh-so-familiar voice, coming from a man just 50 feet away. He joked with the audience, and talked about sincerity, authenticity, and falling in love with everyone he interviews.

There are millions of listeners to the show each week, and the average time spent listening is 38 minutes. Once people tune in, they don't tune out.

Is it weird that I take great comfort in the fact that This American Life is the worlds most popular podcast?

I honestly feel really dorky, to be so excited. But Ira is honestly just great. Something about the sound of his voice, the stories he tells, and the swell of music he accompanies it with. Damn.

P.S. Ira doesn't give a fuck about facebook. Or maybe he doesn't really feel that way. "I just it would be funny to say that."
