But once he'd realized that he hadn't seen Radek for days, when he usually at least saw the man in New Atlantis at some point during the day, it wasn't too hard to parse out. As disheartening as Rodney's disappearance had been-- and Catherine had sworn to God above that she'd kick his ass if he came back, Catherine was still fairly happy herself. She sauntered into the hut, sweeping her hair off of her neck, and took a look at her working man.

...oh, no.

"Carson..."

Carson looked up from his laptop, eyebrows raised slightly. Though Catherine was usually pretty good at seeing right through him, it didn't mean that he wasn't doing to try to pretend that things were normal. Besides, he'd lost people before-- patients or otherwise.

"Hullo," He said, managing to put on a smile.

Catherine bent over to kiss him warmly on the mouth. "Is something wrong, honey?" As long as it wasn't another Rodney, so to speak...

Pressing his lips together, Carson looked down at his laptop again. "Radek's gone." He said, because there was really no other way to say it. It wasn't as if there was anything that either of them could have done to prevent it.

"Oh," Catherine breathed, feeling a pain shoot through her, a quick ache in her bones. "Carson..." She promptly picked up the laptop and moved it away from him, kneeling in front of his legs, pulling his hands forward so she could hold them.

"It's okay," He said, easily seeing how concerned about him she looked. "It was bound t'happen eventually." Though to be honest, he hadn't thought that someone else close to him would disappear so soon after Rodney had gone.

"The second friend of yours who disappears within the month and it's... okay? Even if I wasn't a psychologist, I wouldn't buy that," Catherine said, trying to be as gentle in her honesty as possible.

"Well, it'll be okay." He clarified. At least he could comfort himself in thinking that they were both probably safe and back on Atlantis. Relatively safe, at least, considering the general state of things there.
