Oy indeed. I've replaced flapper valves on our toilets, but am not looking forward to major gasket failures.

Ugh. Gasket goo!

Had the bolts on my upstairs toilet holding tank actually break during my housewarming party. The water flooded through the wall into the kitchen and florida room. The florida room was holding all sorts of boxes still. /sigh While the water was clean as it left the tank upstairs, it wasn't so clean after it filtered through the walls and ceiling and then seaped into my costume trunks. Thankfully the guest was quick and turned off the water to the toilet. We replaced all the parts on all three toilets within the month.

(pretty kitties!)

Ugh, at least the guest was quick! I had the sewer line back up near the end of a New Year's eve party (it blurged out the work sink and the washer drain). At least it was in the basement. It was gross, to say the least. Roto Router earned their hefty holiday/emergency fees.
