070. Pray for Japan ...

The whole family sat in disbelief watching the video of how the tsunami hit Japan from the news. It looked like it came straight from Michael Bay's movies. I don't have anyone I know living in Japan, but I pray for the displaced people there. My sister (who understands Japanese, since she is a Japanese lit major and had spent a year living there) is now watching NHK news and keeps me updated with what is going on while I'm sitting in front of this computer. She says that there was another earthquake hit Japan about 2 hours ago. Since the last earthquake is located at the sea, it seems like it's going to be like the one in Sumatra back in 2004, meaning smaller earthquakes are happening as follow-up. It's devastating :(

The east part of Indonesia did get the tsunami wave but since it was 6 hours after it happened, the tidal wave is not as high and it hit with less power. Still, I do hope that it doesn't create another earthquake/tsunami around my country ... considering that Indonesia sit dangerously at the biggest volcano ring and lies in between the Pacific Ocean

On a related matter, alias_jems, be careful on your trip to the Pacific region, okay? The Philippines also hit by the tsunami wave but like Indonesia, it didn't have a disastrous impact. However, you are coming here, so safe trip.
