447. Favorites of 2010: Music Album ...

Dec 27, 2010 22:47

Every year, I refuse to make a list of my favorite ALBUMS. I don't see myself listening to a whole album as much, plus I always think that it will be hard to rank favorites because my mood for music/albums change frequently. BUT, there is a first time for everything, so this year I decide that I want to try. One criteria about my favorite album, I must like/enjoy at least 3-4 songs from the album. If I only like 1-2 songs, that doesn't count. ALSO, to make things easier, I only focus on albums released in 2010.

10. Your Side Now (Trent Dabbs)

I swear, this album is lovely. The problem on why I put it on #10 is because I cannot remember what title for which songs *grin*.

09. Kaleidoscope Heart (Sara Bareilles)

A great follow-up to her first album. My favorites are "King of Anything" and "Gonna Get Over You"; those two songs are so catchy. Other songs are also enjoyable.

08. The Vampire Diaries (TV Soundtrack)

FINALLY, they release the original soundtrack. The choices in here are awesome. My favorites would be "Running Up That Hill", "Hammock, "Down", "Beauty of the Dark", "Cut", and "All You Wanted". I know it's not really new materials but this is my list ^_^

07. Do Woop & Hooligans (Bruno Mars)

This album is just so FUN and catchy!! I can't stop listening to it. My favorites would be "Just The Way You Are", "Marry You", "Runaway Baby", "Our First Time", and "Grenade"

06. Everything She Wants (Jonathan Clay)

Jonathan Clay is already sitting on my #1 list of Favorite Music Discovery in 2010. This album cemented that -- I practically love EVERY SONGS in here, though if I have to choose, I will mention "Carousel", "Sweet Michelle", "Bonnie And Clyde", "Close To You", and "I Am Not Gone"

05. Glee: The Music Volume 4 (TV Soundtrack)

You know I'm crazy about the show, right? If only they include "Singing in the Rain/Umbrella", "Hey, Soul Sister", AND "Dog Days Are Over" in the album, it'll be perfect and probably be in the Top 3. Instead, they have "(I've Had) Time of My Life" and "Valerie" instead?!? BAH!! But others inclusion, I love ...

04. Hope For Haiti Now (Soundtrack)

Some of the biggest names in music presenting amazing songs for one of the most sombre TV event this year; when they are trying to raise money for victims and survivors of Haiti's Earthquake. "Hallelujah" is so angsty here, sung by Justin Timberlake/Matt Morris/Charlie Sexton. Then there's John Legend, Mary J. Blige, and oh God, Christina Aguilera's "Lift Me Up" just gives me chills.

03. Hands All Over (Maroon 5)

I personally love the third album by this group better than the second one. So many catchy tunes that make me want to move with the songs. Listen to "Misery", "Don't Know Nothing, "Stutter, "Give A Little More Time", "Just A Feeling" ... and of course, the deluxe version, they cover songs like "If I Ain't Got You" and "Crazy Little Thing Called Love". AWESOME!

02. Speak Now (Taylor Swift)

Only take two listens for me to determine that this will definitely be one of my favorite albums. It's probably my favorite album yet from Taylor Swift. I just love her songs. My favorites here will be "Haunted", "Sparks Fly", "Innocence", "Mine", Speak Now", Back to December", and "If This Was a Movie" from the deluxe version.

01. Smoke & Mirrors (Lifehouse)

When I first heard the news that they will release a new album in 2010, back in the last months of 2009, I couldn't contain my excitement. I KNEW I would be in for a treat. Lifehouse is definitely one of my favorite groups. Been in love with their songs since their first album back in 2001. When "Halfway Gone" starts airing, I was giddy with delight because it was so awesome. Then when I got the album, just by first listen, I fell in love with more than half songs in the album, like "All In", "Had Enough", "It Is What It Is", "Falling In", "By Your Side", "Smoke & Mirrors", and of course "From Where You Are, which was previously released. Then they have that bonus album version, and oh gosh, "Crash and Burn" (it is featured on this season's of Castle)!!!!! They prove once again why I keep coming back for their music.

One of books I'm currently reading is Andrea Speed's "Infected: Bloodlines". The thing is, I already know that one of the main characters will die by the end of the book. So now, I am reading that book with dread, because I love that character so much. I just can't imagine saying goodbye to him. It's going to make me cry, I know. Have you ever feel that? Trying to postpone reading a book, to avoid the inevitable ending as long as possible because you just can't imagine letting that character go?

best of 2010
