Jun 05, 2009 06:45

It's Friday morning, 6.30 A.M. My sister and Mom plans to go out shopping today. My Dad will be home, working. Me? I will be home reading :). I'm determined to finish one book this weekend. Since my weekend starts early, because I have this Friday off, I will start reading this morning.

I would like answer some of the questions posted now ... I keep the 20 Q's from barking_cats for later though. The questions come from tea_sky, polvodestrella, barking_cats (the second batch), and designaa ...

From tea_sky
1. What is your top 3 best books you have ever read? (You have to pick single books not series)
This is always a tough question because I like many books and it's hard to choose top 3 books. But okay, I will try: The Kite Runner by Khaled Hosseini. I think the book is very moving, a story about journey of redemption. It makes me cry and I'm so touched with it. The Time's Travelers Wife by Audrey Niffenneger; not a typical love story, it's so beautiful and poignant. Leave Myself Behind by Bart Yates; still the best gay-themed fiction I've ever read, it's smart and witty and contemplative.

2. Did you ever have longer hair?
When I was in my elementary school, I had shoulder length hair. Up to high school, my hair was a couple of inch above my shoulder.

3. If you could do a career change and could pick any job in the world, which would it be?
Travel photographer. I would love to brush up my photography skills and travel around the world.

4. What qualities do you really admire in other people? Are there special ones? I mean, qualities you admire and would like to have yourself?
Hmmm, I admire people who go a long way for a worthy cause, like Doctors Beyond Borders or Greenpeace. Ability to leave everything behind for humanity. I am still too attached with material stuffs to do that. Being completely not selfish, I guess. I would love to have that kind of quality.

5. Would you consider yourself booksmart or streetsmart? (booksmart= smart because you've read and studied as opposed to streetsmart where you learned in real life by encountering problems, by doing something etc)
Streetsmart. My books are mostly novels. I don't like to study from books because to be honest, I think that everyone must experience and learn by themselves. Book can only give as much as tips and guidance but I never believe that those work for everyone, anyway. Experience is the best teacher for me; not book or theory.

6. Are you intuitive? Or more rational?
Hmmm, I'm intuitive in some parts. I have made several decisions in my life because I followed my heart, not my brain. But I guess in day-to-day actions, I'm more rational. Can I say I'm balanced?

Do you live on your own?
I live in boarding house on weekdays but go back to my parents' house on weekends. I choose boarding house because it is relatively closer to the office than my parents' house. However, I do plan to have my own place in the near future.
