OMG!! DAVID COOK'S ALBUM IS HERE!!!!
alias_jems once told me that it amused her seeing me squeeing over something. Maybe because I don't do it much. Well, Jems, look at this post. I AM FUCKING SQUEEING!!!!
I have been waiting this album with such anxiety. I don't think I have ever been this excited over an album, even with Coldplay - and they're my favorite musician (now David Cook is another favorite, of course)!! This album is full of awesomeness. Absolutely!Definitely. Here is what I think of some of the songs ...
1) I really like "Declaration" (co-written with Johnny Rzeznik of the Goo Goo Dolls), great tune, easy to sing along; I actually prefer this one to be David's first single.
2) "Heroes" should be the soundtrack of the TV show *g*. It will definitely make me want to see it more ...
5) "Life On The Moon" infiltrates my brain after the 3rd hearing, there's something with the way David sings the chorus; when he sings, "The life that I knew is through, I'm gonna need you more than ever ..."
6) At first listen, I didn't know what to think of "Bar-Ba-Sol" (heard it from the Walmart soundcheck) but now I find my head nodding to the tune...
8) I already think that "Lie" is one of the sweetest songs from him (heard it first from the Walmart Soundcheck) - this is my favorite song from the whole album and will be the most overplayed.
10) "Avalanche" is another beautiful piece ... I think this is my second favorite - it is co-written with Kevin Griffin from "Better Than Ezra" (and since I love Better Than Ezra's "At The Stars", no wonder I'm in love with this)
11) and 12) I also love "Permanent" (heartbreaking *sob*), and "A Daily AntheM" (wonderful acknowledgment of ADAM). Have to wait quite awhile to listen to the hidden track, but "Kiss On The Neck" is really rockin'!! Catchy title too!
Bonus track: Wish that "Breathe Tonight" is included in the retail album - but thanks to the wonderful people at David Community, I don't need to get this from Walmart :)
I am already in love with "Analog Heart" - which has given me "The Truth", "Silver", "Makeover", and "Don't Say A Word" ... but this one is so much better. His voice is more developed and mature than in "Analog Heart". I do have Daughtry's album ... and while I think there are only four songs from that album that stand out and I love so much ("It's Not Over", "Home", "Over You", and "What About Now"), David Cook's is WAY more lovable. The only one song that I CAN survive without is "The Time of My Life". It doesn't feel right with the whole tone of the album -- too cheesy, less rockin'.
I think for the next few days, my playlist will only consist of David Cook's songs ^_^
FINAL JUDGEMENT: B
Favorite songs: "Lie", "Avalanche", "Declaration", and "Permanent"
