I watched two movies today -- trying to catch up with the excitement of movie watching after being unable to do that due to my crazy work trip schedule. I finished the draft report in the morning, sent it to my colleagues, then set myself up on the chair to watch the movies. The two movies I saw were gay-themed movies and both were incredible!
First one The Broken Hearts Club (2000), which is sweet and adorable - it's a movie about friendship and relationship, and it has familiar-face actors, Zach Braff, Dean Cain, John Mahoney, Kerr Smith (as cameo) ... so wonderful to see them from 8 years ago. It is written and directed by Greg Berlanti, the man responsible for Brothers & Sisters. I'm so in love with Howie and Marshall --
Howie's words at the balcony are just to die for.
Having a storyline about ex-es who still in love is always great *g*.
A beautiful and endearing coming out movie -- a German movie :). I think the whole ambiance is beautiful, aching scenes when the boy realizes that his love for his best friend is unrecruited love. Plus it has a beautiful song from Nada Surf. I love movies like this ... thoughtful without hard provoking.
Then of course, I watched some TV episodes as well ...
Supernatural 4.08 - Wishful Thinking
+ Castiel in the "Then" previews -- I thought he was going to be in the episode, but he wasn't *pout*
+ Ted Raimi, Sam's brother was in this episode and Dean made a "tribute" of saying "With great powers come ...."
+ "He's some kind of a alcohol-porno addict, kind of like a deep-woods Duchovny" -- so Dean keeps track of DD's sex addict problem *g* It was hilarious when Dean and Sam discussed on how to kill the teddy
+ They mention "Bali" - I am proud of it
+ Sam wanted Lilith's head on a platter? Scary SAM!
+ Sam got struck by lightning?!? WHOA! Caught me by surprise there
I think the episode is well-done ... I think it's going to be a scary one based on the "invinsible" ghost that opens the episode. But it is not, I think it is actually a wisftul episode -- mainly because Sam wants to know what happens with Dean. It's touching, the fact that Sam knows that Dean has nightmares and the drinking ... The ending scene, when Dean refuses to tell Sam about what he remembers, is a somber tone -- reminds me of the episode in Season 2, "Croatoan", when Dean informs Sam about their dad's message, which of course leads to Dean making the deal with the demons. I love it very much.
This show has been rocking my world this season. It is constantly good.
Grey's Anatomy 5.07 - Rise Up
+ First pigs ... then robots and cadavers?!
+ I dig the karma thing but bringing back Denny is lame. If they want to bring back JDM, bring him as Papa Winchester at Supernatural
+ George and the Interns didn't really do anything here, did they?
+ So, this is the end for Erica Hahn's character. Burke's way, I guess. Just slip into the sunset without any notice ...
+ The old couple plot, haven't they done this before?? Or have this plot actually BEEN done in other medical shows before? It's totally predictable and as much as it is sad but I'm not feeling it.
The only thing that made me "feel" the episode is Cristina and Hunt. They're slowly shadowing over my Mer/Der crush. The one and one talk in the end, leaving Hunt muttering "Single Malt Scotch" ... they are so going to have hot sex! And I WANT THEM TOO!!
I will not be tired to say this, GIVE MARK A REAL STORYLINE, PLEASE!!! Get him back with Callie is fine with me. But better story than trying him with Cristina? Puh-lez!
I've been glued to the chair, my friend
