... My job in Wonogiri is done ...

I still have one more day before coming home to Jakarta on Sunday (flying business class!!!). Tomorrow, my plan is to look around the town and then to go to Solo (a bigger city, about 40 kilometers from Wonogiri). Nana will join me there since she is having a project in a city nearby and well, we figure it'll be fun to meet in Solo and do a "mini travel" there. I haven't seen her for awhile (the last time I think was when we watched "Made of Honor") and since she is so busy and I'm so busy, meeting in Jakarta MIGHT be difficult.

Anyway, how about another movie review, just because?

96. Urbania (2000)
If you like (and can sit through watching) ambiguous, multiple interpretations, thoughtful, strange movies like "Memento", "Donnie Darko", "Fight Club", or "Mulholland Drive", I totally recommend this movie. This is a movie that needs your concentration. You cannot just watch it with your mind somewhere else. I personally think this movie is REALLY GOOD. But careful, the movie is dark, brooding, and it deals with a rather difficult issue (or homophobia). It also has the sense of loneliness and alienation, in the city of New York, no less. Sure, there are some tender, warm moments between Charlie (Dan Futterman) and his lover Chris (Matt Keeslar), but it also offers shocking, painful, and very sad scenes later on. It's a movie for those who are willing to think. Sure, it has a gay-theme in it, but in general, it is also a fine piece of a movie. It shows how real life can be heartbreaking and without pity ... just like Charlie said, "Just when you thought you are safe ..."

Another movie that enters my Top 10 Gay Themed Movies ...

In the meantime, I already received emails from 3 of the 10 people I sent my "surprise" to. Some post offices are better than others, huh? But I'm glad to know that. Thanks for giving me heads up because it's the only way I can keep track.

For my American friends, HAPPY 4th OF JULY!!!. So, does this day make you feel patriotic?
