... GA 4.14: The Becoming ...
I have some thoughts of this episode ...
This episode made me cry. Why? Because I have to admit, I have soft heart when it comes to forbidden/star-crossed lovers relationship between two men. I think because society still perceive that gay love is perverted or wrong and they just can't see past the gender. It is easier for women, I guess, because we are much more demonstrative when showing affection, even among straight female friends. We are more welcome to share hugs and kisses - so the idea of lesbian is not so repulsive. But gay love? Gosh, those guys have it HARD.
So, when this episode involved the storyline between Darren and Todd (I knew they were gay, the minute I saw the exchanged look when Todd came in) - with Darren refused to see Todd before the surgery, and he died, and Todd kissed his lifeless body right in the lips, let me tell you, TEARS pouring down my eyes, and I was simply melting like a gloob on the floor. I can't help it. It's just so sad.
As for the other storyline. How cute is that Mark has a meltdown?? *g* And my admiration for Chandra Wilson just increased another notch. When Bailey defended Mark by actually insulting him, saying that he was a whore, I giggled like crazy. Give that woman her Emmy now!! Another one who deserved an Emmy? Sandra Oh. Gosh, she is also amazing. She also has a very lovely voice.
I adored the scene where Meredith and Derek injected the virus together. The way they looked at each other, how she managed to get it together afterwards, being in-synch with him, reminded me of the episode with the bomb, when Meredith thought of Derek before removing the bomb. I loved it.
To those of you who hate Meredith, who thinks that she is a screw up, that Derek is so much better without her -- please consider the fact that Derek said himself to Mark on the elevator. He "thought of Meredith all the time" while sleeping with Rose. Come on, who is the screw up, now? He is just as screw up as she is. In fact, if this happens in my own reality, I will think of him as a big jerk. He hid the fact that he was still married when he slept with Meredith - and after he chose to be with Addison, he still pursued Meredith.
But since this is only a TV show, I can forgive him as long as him and Meredith get back together ^_^
