So, I'm considering taking part in NaNoWriMo.
As if I didn't have anything better to do, right, between the uni work, the school work (I got my first ever pay money today! woohoo!), the additional uni work (after-hours club, gotta design our programme's website), the housework (Mom's home for a month, so that's better, but after that, it's back to me being the main cook and all), and the whole plan to take over Canada (which is going very well, thank you for asking).
So, why even consider it? Because I have so little time. I feel like I need to have something else to do, to concentrate on something else than university-, school- or housework. And, yes, I guess there's the whole goat approach to it, which would make it an even better idea. Even though I have little to no time as it is (I manage to spend quite a bit of time surfing the net and waiting for new Sparky fic to appear on LJ, but even then I'm usually looking around for design ideas and such, or thinking of cool ideas for my IT lessons).
Now, I went with my Parents to the cemetery today - something I only do once every few years if I just so happen to be in the car with them when they decide to go, because I never actually knew any of the people they go to visit. I mean, when we got back to Poland, they were all long gone, so, no, you know, not that much with the whole knowing your ancestors thing on my part.
Anyway, we went to the cemetery, and I got this odd idea for a story. Not a horror, crime story or anything; actually, it's a romance story (who's not surprised, raise your hand). Made with a cemetery being one of the main scenes. I think it could actually be kind of cute, hopefully in a non-morbid way. Basically, it'd be about how, over the years, two families tend to the graves of their loved ones - graves that just happen to be nearby, and the young daughter and son of the two families get to know each other as they lend each other matches for the candles and such. Not really got anything more than that, lol.
Now, thing is, I've also got that other idea. The one with the wacko, utterly geeked out, Charlie's Angels-like trio of spy thieves that I'd planned out earlier on. Granted, I do have bits of the beginning written, but I don't think it'd count, technically, since the only version of that that I do have now is a film script (ie, dialog only, almost no descriptions at all) of the first, uh, 15 minutes or so. And even that would probably suffer major changes. Anyway, I
posted most of that script (an old version of it, by now, but still roughly the same) back in June.
My question, for
you guys - which story should I attempt to write for NaNoWriMo? Cemetery romance, or Spy geek trio? When death do them join, or superheroes' sanity is overrated?
I also have another idea, a family saga, sort of, in an odd way, focussing on the female side of one family, from great-grandma to young girl, of a kind I've not seen elsewhere and I *think* is very original, actually. Except I've got nothing in terms of planning the story for that one but for a rough idea of the plot, the relations between the main characters (family-wise) and when they'd all be born, more or less. I told K the idea and she was really impressed and liked it lots, but, yeah, time constraints and all. So, yeah, that's idea #3, which is probably the best, and could probably be actually made into a very cool movie, but is nowhere near being written by me over the next five or tenyears, lol.
PS. Also, I stumbled across
this post and am now very curious as to what story I was refering to. I don't remember actually writing any J/C stories over the last year or so, and certainly haven't posted any - not that I remember, anyway, so... uh... yeah?
