All Right, Time for a Workout...

The direction things have been going lately is a cause of much distress to me, and I find myself in agreement with those who feel this is setting a bad precedent. I'd also like to kick several people down the elevator shaft, but that would be ill-mannered. So I shan't.But it seems as if few are listening. So... if anyone is interested, I'm going ( Read more... )

I sympathize, really. My own...less than pleasant forum posts are probably evidence of that.

I pass by the gym when I'm doing my patrols, so I may stop in for a few minutes to..."work off steam", as you put it. Can I bring you anything?

I understand completely, Miss Samus. You'd be very welcome; I'm sure there is a lot I could learn from you.

If you happen to see any stray brooms or mops laying about and can safely make them disappear into the gym, they would be welcome. Thank you.

I'll see what I can pass on. Sadly, I was mostly a weapon-dependent fighter back home, so most of my skills at hand-to-hand have only been honed since being here.

I'll see what I can do. I'm sure I'll find something on my many rotations around that building.

As a mobile suit pilot, I pretty much define "weapon dependent" myself, so I hear you there. Fortunately Commander Treize insists that we all be able to defend ourselves with hand-to-hand combat and swordsmanship, and the martial arts figure heavily in that. We can share technique, all of us.

And thank you.

If you don't mind, I would like to join you for a bit. I have been unable to find my sparring partner for more than one week now.

Maybe he is gone.

Please do join me--I would like that.

Who is your regular sparring partner, if I may ask?

I'll be down there in about half an hour.

It's Yoite. I do train with Suzaku, too, but only kendo. My regular nindo and kenpo training I do - mybe did - with Yoite. Do you know him?

Regretfully, I do not think I have met Yoite. I hope he is well, wherever he is.

I've got a little experience with those disciplines, but am always glad to learn more. See you at the gym soon, then.

What a wonderful idea! I would very much like to learn, if you wouldn't mind.

Is it a problem that I'm a beginner? I know only one move...and it's not very good...

Not a problem at all, Miss. One move is better than none--and can be used as a good foundation. I'm sure we can teach you some things that will help you to be safer.

Have we met yet? I am Lt. Zechs Merquise, from Earth; may I know your name?

Yes we have, but it was only for a very brief moment over the network when I first arrived.

I'm very pleased to meet you, Lieutenant-san. My name is Tohru Honda, and I too am from Earth! Thank you very much for offering to teach me.

I had planned to explore the gymnasium as well; I don't know that I'll spar, per say, but I do know a thing or two about combat if you need assistance.

I do not believe we have met yet, Mr. Raziel, but I have heard you are a warrior--I would welcome any input you would care to offer. Thank you!

I am, yes. I would be glad to assist, though you'll understand why I'd rather instruct than participate.

Oh, Miss Nill, dear princess--you are always welcome. I would be glad and relieved to be able to teach you some self-defense. Besides, I enjoy your company. Do you want me to come get you, so you do not have to walk down alone?
