If the Winchesters were a normal family, Dean would start driving at the age of 16. He'd take a few lessons first and then proudly have his own car to drive over to his girlfriend's to pick her up for the movies whenever they felt like it. But the words "normal" and "Winchesters" never fit together particularly well and that's why the first time Dean drives - really drives, not only those times when Dad lets him practice a little on the latest motel's parking lot - he's only 13 years old, barely reaching the accelerator.
