Long time no see, livejournal.

I have been home sick for three days. I have strep throat and two ear infections. I'm on antibiotics but they make me so tired, I do not know if they are suppose to or not. When I went to the pharmacy to get the meds the lady in the white jacket looked me square in the eyes are said, "Don't drink while on these, it will screw you up in unmeasurable ways." "It will also mess up your birth control so be aware and use other protection." I looked her square in the eyes and told her I was fifteen and she nodded and said, "Exactly, welcome to your generation."

I am surprised they even allowed me to get perscription medicine out of fear of me taking them to a pharm party.

This did get me thinking, however unlogically under my current fever ridden circumstances, what is going on with our generation? Do we honestly care about anything besides myspace and quick fixes? I think there are always exceptions but I do not think most of these twenty first century teens devout enough time to thinking about the bigger things in life. We hear about big, imposing issues and think, "I'm too young, somebody else can deal with that." But it is no longer true, we need to step up to the plate and deal with the issues because we are no longer the "young" generation; we are the new generation and we need to show the world that there is more to us than myspace, drugs, alcohol and sex.

I have seen brilliance in a lot of my peers so I know all hope is not lost on us. Unless that brilliance is overrun with a careless attitude thanks to all the 4 20 celebrations.
