And so it is..
*sigh* Well, being the dork that I am, I am spending my last Friday night of the summer at home on my personal computer. I guess it's a night for reflection since I'm in somewhat of a melancholy mood, and I seem to be weepy for some reason. Reflection seems to be the word of the hour. So, here it goes.
A list of things, compiled through many hours of thought and nostalgia, that I have learned this summer.
*If you drink the lake, it will only be "Sky Camp"
*Honking from behind isn't really as dirty as it sounds.
*The song Love Shack can never get old
*Food, water, sleep, and anything healthy is for the weak. (Including showering)
*"Whoopsie" can fix anything but calling your boyfriend/girlfriend by the wrong name, stealing someone else's boyfriend/girlfriend, or a swift kick to the balls.
*Lollipops = any illegal substance
*Don't do dumb stuff.
*Wednesday can be celebrated ANY day of the week.
*Ants on a log taste a LOT better when you lick the knife.
*You can never have too much tie dye.
*Grilled cheese and tomato soup are one of God's finer creations.
*Ranch dressing and Peanut Butter taste good on almost any food.
*Group showers can save your afternoon.
*A one-piece bathing suit is a must at Special Needs camp.
*Charles Morgan sings "This Little Light" better than anyone that I know.
*Underwear on Wednesdays is NOT allowed.
*It really is possible to burst into song at any given moment. Musicals really do happen.
*I really can survive for long periods of time without access to a computer.
*The ultimate question; "What's colder, ice or frozen water?"
*Birds don't fly at night. Those are called bats.
*Hugs are the therapy of life.
*Dressing like a freak can make a Jr. High dance incredible.
*A turtle, when set on the edge of a dock, will continually walk right off the side of it..without fail, every single time.
*Not all songs can be sung as a round.
*Peeing on the side of McDonalds is a rational release of anger when the drive-thru isn't open at 11:30 pm.
*It is possible to lay on a couch for 5 days straight watching movies, and not get bored.
*Hugs cure everything.
*No matter what you do, summer still ends.
Ah, well, glad that's out. What a good summer. If you have any more suggestions of things you think I've learned this summer, or small additions to my list, feel free to comment. I'm somewhat at a loss for creativity tonight.
Well, so Terra Ann came over on Monday and stayed until Thursday..again. I can't get sick of her! We watched the entire First season of The L Word. I needed to refresh my memory before the second season comes out in 2 months. *eek* I highly recommend the show.
Carol and Jim also said no to the option of me accompanying Mr. John Moomey to England. I am quite disappointed, to say the least. Terra's family is going in April. Maybe I can go then. Carol will probably be more comfortable with the idea since her entire family will be there.
