I'm having a fantastic day! Ok, so I told you that my iPod wigged out the other day right? Well, it turns out there's a really easy solution! So today I was heading towards the bus and ran into Justine and she offered me a ride home since she had driven today and we started talking about music and I told her about my iPod situation and she laughed and said she'd seen it before and to go online and search "iPod sad face." I was skeptical but seriously, I searched on google and clicked the first entry and it described EXACTLY what I was dealing with:
"If you have ever opened up a hard drive you will see that it has several platters and an arm that swings across the platters. When you start to hear the whirrrr....click....whirrrr....click you are hearing the platters start to spin and then the click is the arm trying to move but it's "stuck". So when you shake your hard drive what you're doing is trying to get the arm to get "unstuck". It is somewhat fortunate that this is working on so many people's iPods because I have rarely been able to get it to work on a regular sized hard drive. Whatever any of you do though, don't open the hard drive itself. Unless you are in a certified clean room that drive will die and you'll never be able to use it again."
Here's the creepy as hell sad face:
Oh my god, people, if you ever get the iPod sad face, don't give up hope! There's life after the sad face! Sure enough, I just went to get my iPod but I didn't want to open it up so I just started shaking it really hard. It took a few tries but OH MY GOD, it worked!!! I'm sooo happy I don't have to buy a new iPod!!!! I'm in such disbelief that it was THAT easy, I keep turning my iPod on to make sure it's still alive!
In addition to the resurrection of my iPod, my speech class was cancelled, my Spanish test was pretty easy and SHORT and I got to have Pita Pit for lunch! Sounds kind of dumb, but it was a gooood day for me!!
