Should be studying, but I don't wanna...

Ummm... let's see...

Friday- Ryan went to a friends so it was just me, my dad and his girlfriend. My dad BBQed shrimp which was tasty and we watched 1 vs. 100!! And I dunno what else...

Saturday- uhh picked up my bro and my dad went to church and then Ryan and I stayed downtown to eat and do whatever. Then when church was over, he and Jennifer met up w/ us at River Park Sq. and went to Casino Royale which was AWESOME!!! Kinda makes the last few w/ Pierce Brosnan look like crap. I didn't think I'd like the new guy but he's totally better!! And when I first saw the girl she kind of scared me but she was great too! WOW. GO SEE IT!!

Sunday- Sunday school was okay- we're always running out of time- I think I have the biggest class... yeah they didn't have everything cut out for me like they normally do so yeah... doing the project SUCKED. I don't know what else... OH, we went to my uncle's house for the first time in years. He got a new cell phone so he needed me to help him figure everything out. And now that Lori's out of the picture he doesn't really know how to do a some things when he sells his looms and stuff on e-bay so when he's ready, I have to go back and help with that. I'm just glad he's talking to us more now and kind of admitting he needs us- hopefully he'll want to join us for Christmas. I've missed him a lot.

Yesterday- Math final felt pretty good. Went and got my Spanish test from my teacher and somehow even though that test felt scary it was my best out of the three so that's good I guess... Biology exit interview was full of LIES- first, it was just
supposed to be with our T.A. Melissa- turned out to be just the professor...it was supposed to start at 10:40- we didn't start until 10:55... so yeah... but it went okay- I actually talked so that was good.

Today- what have I accomplished? NOTHING. I'll be okay though. If I just make some notes to study from this afternoon then I can study tonight and tomorrow morning. The test isn't until 12pm so I'll have some time.

OKAY, STORES, YOU NEED TO GET THE CRANBERRY SPLASH SIERRA MIST, OKAY?! I REALLLLLY WANT TO TRY IT AND YOU'RE NOT DOING ANYTHING ABOUT IT. GET IT TAKEN CARE OF OR THERE WILL BE CONSEQUENCES.

20 Days 'til X-MAS! and FYI:

Claim: 'Xmas' is a modern, disrespectful abbreviation of the word 'Christmas.'

Status: False.

Origins: The X abbreviation of 'Xmas' for 'Christmas' is neither modern nor disrespectful. The notion that it is a new and vulgar representation of the word 'Christmas' seems to stem from the erroneous belief that the letter 'X' is used to stand for the word 'Christ' because of its resemblance to a cross, or that the abbreviation was deliberately concocted "to take the 'Christ' out of Christmas." Actually, this usage is nearly as old as Christianity itself, and its origins lie in the fact that the first letter in the Greek word for 'Christ' is 'chi,' and the Greek letter 'chi' is represented by a symbol similar to the letter 'X' in the modern Roman alphabet. Hence 'Xmas' is indeed perfectly legitimate abbreviation for the word 'Christmas' (just as 'Xian' is also sometimes used as an abbreviation of the word 'Christian').

None of this means that Christians (and others) aren't justified in feeling slighted when people write 'Xmas' rather than 'Christmas,' but the point is that the abbreviation was not created specifically for the purpose of demeaning Christ, Christians, Christianity, or Christmas -- it's a very old artifact of a very different language.
