[Although having kept to himself since the clusterfuck of a Halloween celebration, Tumnus is no less pleased to hear from Odette. It was early evening and he'd only just begun to prepare a cup of tea to drink with his book reading of the evening, so her interruption is most welcome.

Sorry, Megamind, he has no idea of any toe stepping that's happening.

He also happens to share a certain... fondness for her. He tone is colored in both surprise and warmth.]

Odette, what a pleasant surprise. I would be most pleased to share your company this evening... is there anything you would care that I brought along with me?

[Ah just the faun she wanted to hear from. She smiles and it's warmth evident in her voice.]

Nothing that I can think of. I've packed a dinner, but it's more than enough for two.

[If only he knew the chaos this was causing in your life, Odette. Even so, he was hardly going to stay out of touch, especially since you'd reached out to him this time.

And that warmth in your voice would be terribly hard to miss.]

Oh, well that's really too kind of you. I shall be by in but a few moments.

[The only thing that he shall pause to gather is a canteen for the tea he's just prepared (with a service for 2 people), his scarf and a warm shawl for his lady friend in case it gets chilly. Then he's off and moving, making his way to the orchard. When he spies the lovely princess, his expression warms and he smiles, clip-clopping on over.]

Good evening, Odette. You are looking lovely as always...

[It's okay, Tumnus. It's hardly your fault. Odette has no idea where she stands with Megamind, so as far as she's concerned, they're just friends.

When she spots him, she waves him over and makes sure there's plenty of room for her guest.]

Good evening and thank you. Please sit.

[Well, we'll just have to worry about that when it comes to it, won't we? For now the pair will just have to enjoy themselves and make the best of their time together while they can.

His smile is warm as she waves him over to join her, clipping over to do so. He settles in alongside her, setting the tea setting and canteen to one side with the folded shawl.]

Thank you, my dear. I know you said I did not need to bring anything, but I brought some hot tea along.

Hot tea sounds wonderful.

[Odette reaches for the basket of food and sets it close to them. She hadn't planned to ask for company for dinner. But when making her post, she thought it was far better to share it someone. And who better than someone she's become very fond of?]

Please, help yourself.

[Tumnus hasn't been asked along to such an occasion since before Lucy and her siblings disappeared from Narnia. It was fairly common to find the faun with the young queen in the gardens of Cair Paravel. She begins setting out items from the basket and his ears flick with interest.

It's simple fare, but the fact the she invited him along at all is greatly appreciated by the faun. He begins preparing two glasses of the hot tea, holding one carefully to her in offering, its tendrils of steam rising into the night air.]

Do you take cream or sugar, Odette? [For the faun had brought both.]

[It's been a long time since Odette's been able to behave like this. She may claim to no longer be a princess, but her actions hardly hide her heritage. There are some things that simply cannot be helped. It's part of the reason she's so fond of Tumnus. He reminds her of home and helps her to remember who she is. Because sometimes she feels like she's forgetting.

She appreciates him in ways she's never appreciated another person before. Kind of makes her question her real thoughts about you, Tumnus.]

Oh, cream please.

[A princess is a princess, whether seated in her own kingdom or one far removed from it, and Tumnus will see that she is treated as such. This was in addition to him believing that she deserved to be treated this way, anyway, as a young woman of gentle intent. While Tumnus would understand that she does not make claim to the tilte any longer, he will forever treat her as such.

Odette is like a touch of home for the faun and the reminder is welcomed and appreciated in a way the young woman might not ever realize. She is giving him a sort of grounding that he had not had since arriving and he's coming to realize how much he was floundering before.

He dips his head in agnowledgement as she requests cream, taking out the smaller bottle and adding it to her cup before passing it to her. Only when she is properly served does he prepare his own glass and finally settle in.]

Thank you for inviting me, Odette; the offer was quite kind of you.

[Odette watched him pour the cream into her cup with an appreciative smile. With it done, she curled her fingers around the glass to warm them. This was nice, very nice. The food was nice, as was the company.]

You're very welcome. It's nice not having to eat dinner alone. Especially if the company is you.
