So here's my update.
I got a snowday and a Teacher Workday in one. Which is good, because we had used all our snow days, and I think today doesn't count. And I can work on my report cards at home, because they're on the computer now. Yeeha!
Friday night Dave and I ventured into our Nation's Capital for Margie and Steve's engagement party. We had great parking luck, finding a spot only 1/2 a block from Neil's apartment building, where the party was being held. His apartment is very swanky, and the common area where we had the party had a TV room, bar, pool table, dining area, climbing wall, etc. Very lovely. We left about 12:30 AM, although the drunkards were still partying.
Saturday afternoon I had Reston Chorale rehearsal, because the piece we're performing in March is hella-hard and funky and it's a commissioned work so we can't even listen to someone else's performance of it to see how it's supposed to sound. Add that to the fact that Fred (our director) asked me to learn the women's parts to play with them at sectionals, and so I did that Saturday, so I have NO idea what I'm supposed to sing. I have to concentrate so hard on these parts that I can't sing along or anything. But I'm hoping it's there subliminally in the back of my mind.
Then Saturday night we met up with Margie and Steve again, and Kristin, and some other assorted folks at the Clarendon Grill. There was supposed to be a band performing that we had some tie to, but their sound guy didn't show up, so they were still waiting (and panicking somewhat) when we left at 10:30.
And today holds the promise of daytime TV and report cards. Yeeha!!
