Trying to remind her

I need help.

I need to persuade my speech class to believe something or that something is better and so on.
I was considering doing it about "retail therapy" and why that form of consumerism is a problem.
But I don't know.
Any ideas?

well look at what promotes retail therapy.
shows like sex in the city talk about it - shows that are hourlong ads for expensive shoes, clothes, etc. and reinforce in everyone the notion that rich, glamorous new york city socialites wear these certain brands.
